There are several other services and connection mechanism to connect your devices to share files.
Such as:
  • LAN cable
  • Wifi network
  • Bluetooth
  • Online Program/websites
And in this tutorial I would like to go with transfer/sharing files between computer over Wireless Network(wifi). Follow these simple steps to be connected:
Step 1: Enable and Discover Wireless Devices
  1. First, make sure that you have your wifi enabled in both devices and connected.
  2. Click Network on the Left pane of computer explorer and you will find the list of wireless devices that is available in range and connected.
    • Note: If you can't view any such devices, make sure that your device is discoverable, to do so Goto Control Panel->Network and Internet->Network and Sharing Center->Advanced sharing settings and check Turn on network discovery.[Refer the image below]
Step 2: Login Verification and Setting Access Right
  1.  Select the device which you want to access/read/write, and click on it
  2. In default, you will be prompted to enter the network username and password to view files in public folders
    1. Either you can enter username & password of the system you want to connect with or disable that feature
    2. To disable that feature Goto Control Panel->Network and Internet->Network and Sharing Center->Advanced sharing settings and Uncheck Turn off password protected sharing.[Refer the image below]
Step 3: Share Files to Other Connected Computer In Networks
  1. Now you can view the files and folder of the other computer/laptop that are in libraries.
  2. If you want to access the additional folder's and drives it must be granted by the provider.
    1. For Eg: To share a drive right click on drive->properties->sharing->advanced sharing->share this folder(select)
    2. And Click Ok and Apply
  3. Now you will find the data being shared with other computers.
    1. You can also set limitation to other by making it read or write else to do both.
    2. Set your limitation as per your wish by selecting/checking the buttons, Set Allow full control to make other users access/read/modify your files.
    3. And click apply and OK you're done.
